Meanwhile, the class is busy getting ready for Homecoming. The bonfire is a major event. But here's the thing about bonfires at Brazosport High School. For years it's been the goal to keep the tradition of placing an outhouse the top of the bonfire. In 1965, outhouses were still common, especially out in the country. It was theft, but the boys who performed this duty were heroes.
It had never been done. All the bonfires in the past had been topped with a regular one seater outhouse. This year would be different! Placing a two-seater at the top would require a lot of effort, but it make this class go down as special. Pee Wee and Brutus have located the perfect outhouse out in country close to Jones Creek.
The drama department has decided to write their own play. So right before Homecoming, they've decided to perform "A Tale Of Old Rome". Mr. Kenney, the drama teacher, was reluctant for his students to write their own play, but the kids insisted. Latin was a hot subject, why not a play about the Romans?
